Case Study:
Coaching Bloomberg's Employees to Deliver with Impact at Work

As part of Bloomberg’s global diversity and inclusion initiative, Alex ran a 12-week programme designed to help their employees speak with more confidence, communicate with clarity and connect with their audience when presenting at work.

THE CHALLENGES

The team needed to be equipped to handle a multitude of different presentation environments, whether it be presenting to the team in a daily stand-up, department wide in a town hall or to senior leadership.

For some of the cohort, this was about equipping them with the skills that are going to get them promoted quicker. Whilst others had recently been promoted and didn't feel they were communicating at the level that was required of their new position.

HOW WE HELPED

Alex was bought in to deliver a Lunch & Learn Workshop to 250 members of Bloomberg's DEI initiative to generate interest in his Presentation Accelerator. The team were then invited to apply to be a part of the programme.

10 employees were selected for the first cohort and were put through a 12-week programme that involved a mixture of weekly live workshops and 1-2-1 coaching calls that were supported by Alex's presentation analytics platform to measure their development.

The Modules:

Hack Your Stage Presence

Structure a Persuasive Presentation

Communicate with Emotional Intelligence

Perform Under Pressure

Become an Effective Storyteller

Develop Performance Intelligence

At the end of the programme, the cohort was asked to deliver a Pecha-Kucha presentation live to the group putting into practice everything they had learnt.

Upon completion, participants received a CPD accredited certificate.

Following the success of the trial programme, Alex now runs repeat cohorts for the company and is enjoying following the participants' career development.

Alumni Testimonial

"Over the course of the programme, I have learned a great deal about myself, both from the weekly feedback and from the course modules. I feel I am in a much stronger place to create presentations with purpose and impact. For me, the modules covering structure and emotional intelligence were the most valuable because they are not areas that communication coaches focus on, even though they are essential skills for presenters.

Public speaking is one of the most terrifying and rewarding things you can do. Our voice as a medium can have an immeasurable impact in many areas of our lives. If you want to become a better public speaker and are considering this course I couldn't recommend it highly enough."
