At The MicDrop Open Speaker Fee Project ("we," "us," or "our"), we are committed to protecting the privacy and personal information of individuals who participate in our project. Data We Collect
We collect the following data: Email address (which will be anonymised), gender, ethnicity, experience as a speaker, name of company/conference, type of event, size of company, occasion, details on how the engagement was landed, speaking role, event format, date, location, audience type, size of audience, length of speaking slot, talk topic, currency, speaking fee amount, speaking fee terms, negotiations details, and speaker satisfaction. Participants can opt out of sharing any of these specifics.
Why We Collect Your Data
We are collecting your data for research purposes to understand trends in the speaking fee market. Additionally, you may opt into receiving further communication about our community turning leaders into sought-after speakers, MicDrop.
How We Store Your Data
Your data is securely stored in a Google Form which uses the FormFacade add on, which then transfers data to a Google Sheet. Both the Form and Sheet are stored securely on Google Drive.
Data Retention
For participants who do not opt into finding out more about MicDrop, we will retain your email address for one month, after which it will be deleted. However, for those who do opt into receiving more information about MicDrop, we will retain your email address until such time as you choose to unsubscribe from our communications. Regardless of your choice to opt in or out of further communications, the rest of the data (speaking fee data) will be retained indefinitely for ongoing research purposes.
Please note, at any time, you have the right to request that we delete your email address from our records. You can do this by contacting us at micdrop@alexmerry.com.
Your Data Protection Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your data upon request. You may exercise these rights by contacting us at micdrop@alexmerry.com.
Ensuring Anonymity
In order to ensure anonymity, if you've provided an email address, it is removed from the dataset prior to analysis.
Sharing Your Data
We do not share your individual data with any third parties. The collective, anonymized data will be analyzed by our team for research purposes.
Cross-border Transfers
We are prepared to comply with international data protection laws, such as the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Participant Eligibility
Participants in this research project must be 18 years of age or older.
